Evening on the balcony: a bottle of wine and two glasses on the mosaic table, with the dome of the Great Synagogue lit up behind the rooftops

Aperitivo above the rooftops.

The balcony is the heart of the apartment. Face south and the sun settles over the roofs, domes and terraces of the old city from late morning, and stays with you into the golden hour. Pour a glass of wine when the day’s walking is done, and watch the light change over the city.

“We had an amazing stay at Susanna’s unit. Amazing views from the balcony and perfect walking location to some great and safe areas of Rome. When we come back to Italy we will be booking with Susanna for a longer stay.”

A cobbled lane in the Jewish Ghetto, with a menorah relief and a Star of David on the wall

The Jewish Ghetto

One of the oldest and most fascinating areas of Rome’s historic centre. Wander narrow lanes, stop for a long lunch, and set out on foot to the city’s great sights, all of which are a pleasant walk from the front door.

Worth the climb

The apartment sits at the very top of the building, up five flights of stairs. We say so plainly because it matters: it is the reason the light is so good, the street noise so far below, and the view so wide.

If stairs are a concern for you or your guests, please ask us before you plan your trip.

Good to know

What about the city tax?

Rome charges a city tax (imposta di soggiorno) per guest and per night, paid in addition to the nightly rate. We confirm the exact amount in your quote.

Can I leave my luggage?

The apartment is on the top floor, up five flights with no lift. If you arrive before check-in or leave after check-out, ask us in advance and leave your bags with us.

How do I get here from the airport?

From Fiumicino, the Leonardo Express train takes about 32 minutes to Roma Termini (€14). From there, bus 40 or 64 goes to Largo di Torre Argentina, a 5-minute walk from us. Another option is the FL1 train to Trastevere (€8), then tram 8 to Largo di Torre Argentina. A licensed taxi from Fiumicino to central Rome costs a fixed €55. Tell us your arrival time and we will help you plan the easiest way to the front door.

Can I check in early?

Check-in is from 16:00. Early check-in can be arranged, depending on availability. Please ask when you write.

Do you have a cot?

Please ask us before you book, and we will tell you whether a cot can be arranged for your stay.

Is there parking?

The Jewish Ghetto lies inside Rome’s limited traffic zone (ZTL), so we recommend arriving without a car. Ask us if you would like help finding parking nearby.

Arriving late?

Susanna meets you at the door and shows you the apartment. Arriving after 21:00? Tell us and we’ll arrange it.

Is there a security deposit?

No. After the 20% deposit, the balance is due on the day of check-in.

Can I smoke?

Not indoors, but you’re welcome to smoke on the balcony. Quiet hours start at 22:00, and parties and extra overnight guests are not allowed.

Why do you need my ID?

Italian law asks us to register each guest’s ID. We’ll ask for it before arrival.

Tell us your dates.

We reply within 2 hours.
