Who we are

Caesar’s Nest is a holiday apartment in Rome, run by its host, Susanna. We are responsible for the details you send us. You can reach us at caesarnest@gmail.com.

What we collect

Through the contact form: your name, email address, the dates and number of guests you give us, and your message. If you ask for our occasional offers, we also keep your email address and note that you agreed. We collect nothing else through this website, except visit statistics if you accept analytics cookies (see “Cookies and other sites”).

Why, and on what basis

We use these details only to answer your request, send you a quote and, if you book, arrange your stay. This is on your request, before a possible contract (GDPR, article 6(1)(b)). We send offers only if you agree (article 6(1)(a)), and you can withdraw that at any time.

Who sees them

The form sends an email to our own mailbox. Our email and website hosting providers process it for us. We do not sell your details and we do not use them for advertising. If you book, Italian law requires us to register guests with the authorities, and we do that separately. If you write to us on Facebook Messenger, Meta handles that message under its own privacy policy. If you accept analytics cookies, Google processes the visit data for us and may do so outside the EU under its standard safeguards.

How long we keep them

As long as needed to answer you and handle any booking, and afterwards only as long as the law requires, for example for accounting. Then we delete them.

Cookies and other sites

We do not use advertising cookies. If you accept, we use Google Analytics (Google Ireland Limited) to count visits and see which pages are read. It sets cookies on your device, keeps visit data for up to 14 months, and we have turned off advertising features and anonymised IP addresses. Nothing is sent to Google Analytics unless you accept, and you can change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” in the footer. This is based on your consent (GDPR, article 6(1)(a)). The home page shows a Google map, which loads content from Google and may set its own cookies. The availability calendar reads our Airbnb calendar on our server and shows only which dates are taken. Links to Instagram and Airbnb take you to those sites, which have their own policies. Your browser may remember that you closed the language banner; this stays on your device.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you, correct, delete or restrict the details we hold, to stop using them, or to give you a copy. Write to caesarnest@gmail.com. You can also complain to the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (opens in a new tab).
